JULIO MAZZARELLA
International Finance Executive
Julio is a senior international finance executive with ten years experience in the private equity division of Fidelity Investments and ten years with the international divisions of PepsiCo Inc. and Eli Lilly. He served as CFO at two global technology companies, including a telecom/fiber/internet company with $450M in assets and a satellite radio company with $1.2B in assets (founder of XM Radio), as well as CFO at a $500M IT/Professional Staffing company. Julio is fluent in English and Spanish.

SELECTED EXPERIENCE
CFO, Veritude, (Fidelity Investments portfolio company) - Managed all areas of finance, M&A, contracts, risk management, and payroll operations. Key business partner to the CEO in setting direction, planning and executing strategy, restructurings, and acquisitions. Increased the profit margins in commercial accounts by 50%, by redefining the business model and implementing a strategy to refocus business. Developed and implemented a restructuring strategy that saved $23M in annual operating expenses. Led M&A activities: developed valuations, oversaw due diligence process, managed relations with bankers, accountants and lawyers, crafted investment proposals to the Board. Built the FP&A team into a core competency of the company.
International Business Strategy - Led business model redesign & cost structure realignment for a Telecom company, headquartered in Boston with operations in Brazil, Mexico and Argentina, improving cash flow by $100M while maintaining client service levels. Led org. redesign & realignment of cost structure to offset EBITDA impact of $250M decrease in revenue. Developed & implemented M&A strategy and valuation methodology for $500M IT/Professional Staffing company.
Financial Modeling - Developed KPIs and financial models for businesses to make decisions on pricing, CAPEX, comp-plans, and how to scale businesses (Satellite Radio, Internet Solutions, Video Streaming, Business Svcs., Wireless, Beverage, Pharma). Developed the client profitability outlook (CPO) for a $500M IT/Professional Staffing firm to make decisions on pricing, staffing and client retention programs.
Global Finance - Managed global finance function for a telecom company with operations in Brazil, Mexico and Argentina. Built teams, negotiated with vendors, developed strategies & budgets, and set global internal controls & financial reporting standards.
Capital Raising - Led capital raising process as CFO of two global technology companies (Satellite $1.1B in assets and Telecom $0.5B in assets) with offices in Latin America, Europe, Africa and Asia. Led drafting of presentations, F1/S1, PPMs; developed long-term financial projections models; managed relations with investment bankers (Morgan Stanley, CSFB, Merrill Lynch). Co-led sale of a Telecom company in Brazil with $250M in assets.
